For some people when they first begin their meal plan they can get very focused on the tiny details. This can detract from the overall goal - which is ease, and creating healthy food habits. Letting them know there’s leeway can be very reassuring.
Swapping out a vegetable or fruit they don’t like for one they do like won’t negatively impact their plan. Same goes for herbs and spices.
People have different tastes and tolerances - particularly for spices. If a recipe lists a fresh herb and you don’t have it, swapping for a dried one you have in the pantry is fine.
We find that once people settle into the routine of their meal plan they naturally find their groove. They get a sense of the portion sizes, how to use the ‘Swap’ and ‘Favourite’ features, and realise that it’s about the week as a whole - rather than a single meal or ingredient.
The most important thing is that they enjoy their food. It’s always about the big picture - the goal of changing habits for the better, and for the long term.
