As you already know, the fitness industry can be challenging at the best of times. It can be tough to maintain a successful gym or PT clientele.
We noticed one particular addition to our business made an enormous difference - a meal plan in our membership.
We started off by adding the weekly plan for an additional $10 per week, and saw approximately 40% of our existing members get onboard. When new members came for their introductory session we discussed the benefits of its inclusion. We saw approximately half of these people were eager to try it.
Naturally this has made a big impact on the gyms weekly income.
We’ve used Socials to encourage those using the meal plan to communicate with each other and share their experiences with the rest of the gym community. It naturally encourages a word of mouth form of advertising which brings more existing members onto the plans.
Periodically we’ve run short term challenges with the inclusion of the meal plan built into the price. This has translated to approximately 10% of the group choosing to continue after the completion of the challenge.
Two big things we’ve noticed. The first is the health benefits that a change in diet creates for that person. They feel better, perhaps they’re achieving a weight loss goal, and they’re more motivated. We’ve seen a direct correlation between this, and their commitment to their training
The second, particularly since COVID, is the ability for the meal plan to keep the connection between us - the trainer - and the client. We’ve actually increased our user base by another 10 - 15%.
They’ve told us that the meal plans enable them to retain a sense of control over their health. It’s also gives us a vital connection with them.
The fact that our plans generate new recipes every week has kept our clients engagement and interest much higher.
